Kitty Wellmann DNP, FNP-BC, PPCNP-BC, APRN, Nurse Practitioner

Kitty Wellmann was born at Providence Alaska Medical Center and has only left Alaska for some education and vacation. She holds board certification in both family practice and pediatrics. Her education includes a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Advanced Practice Nursing degree from Arizona State University in 2010, a Master of Science in nursing from UAA with leadership honors in 2000 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Science from UAA in 1993.

A pioneer in advanced practice nursing in Alaska, she was the first nurse practitioner granted acute care clinical privileges in the pediatric intensive care unit and helped define the role of acute care nurse practitioners.


She was an inaugural a member of the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association Alaska and is a recipient of the "Live Fierce" Award.  The American Association of Nurse Practitioners has honored her with the Nurse Practitioner of Excellence Award for the state of Alaska.
